How To Create The Perfect Low Bite Deli Style Salad

Since I’ve tried hard lately to keep track of some macro stuff, nothing too serious of course, I have made it a priority to incorporate more salads, protein, fewer carbs, sugars. You know, all of the wonderful delicious things that we love!


Today’s creation was a deli inspired salad. Another victory! I am so busy trying to make life work in a crazy uncharted territory environment. My time is precious!


Only 5 points on the iTrackbites Conquer Cravings program! Yes, huge and low in calories and bites! This is a must have for a quick and filling lunch.


This recipe calls for is some super simple ingredients and my favorite shortcuts for making this super low in points!


I also really want to mention, if you're not on Conquer Cravings this can absolutely be a very low point meal for any of the plans! It's so versatile.


Let’s start dissecting this recipe a little bit.


The lettuce, okay so I am not usually picky about lettuce but you will usually see me using either a Romaine leaf or Spinach. Iceberg is something that happens, but not very often.


2 cups are enough honestly, but more or less is up to you or you could use a spring mix or spinach. Whatever floats your boat.


Next, I chopped my veggies. Beefsteak tomatoes are always the juiciest, and honestly, it was time to use it because they are only at their best for so long. The only other veggie (other than lettuce of course) Was half of a whole Vlasic Dill Pickle.


Added in a sliced hard-boiled egg, deli-sliced turkey breast, and some turkey pepperoni, and one slice of Velveeta cheese.


Cheese for me is hit or miss. I dislike spending points on cheese. It is usually pretty up there in fat content also. BUT, my favorite cheese shortcut is Velveeta cheese slices. At only 35 calories per slice and only 1 point per slice (on every iTrackbites plan by the way), it’s a staple on my grocery list.




My dressing of course is Bolthouse Farms classic ranch. I could go on forever about this!




Make this salad your own! I wanted Avocado on it, but they were bad already and I think would be an awesome addition to it. Don’t forget to measure though!



Recipe:


Deli Style Salad



  • 2 cups of Romaine

  • 2 oz deli-style turkey breast

  • 7 slices Sugardale turkey pepperoni (sub for your favorite brand)

  • 1 hard boiled egg (I buy the pre-made ones, guilty as charged!)

  • 1 slice Velveeta cheese

  • ½ cup sliced beefsteak tomatoes

  • ½ Vlasic Whole Dill Pickle

  • Everything Seasoning by McCormick

  • 2 tbsp Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch
